These brushes are a little different than the originals in a few ways. The new handle shape is straight so a little wider in the middle than before. There is also a different RT print. The original Real Technique brushes have a soft finish in black that tend to get dirty and can only be cleaned with makeup remover - that always annoyed me. The new ones have a firmer finish so are easy to clean. They don't show grime like to originals do.
The shape of the bristles are a different for the old ones I have to compare to. It varies for each brush, it may be slightly larger or smaller. For example the new foundation brush is smaller and more dense than before. The top is a more narrow dome where before it was flatter. This means you use the side of the new one where before you would use the top of it. The new highlight brush is a less tapered and larger. There is also more of a rounded tip where before it was a more thin tapper. For this brush, I felt like the new cut was a big downgrade. In general, I feel they should have kept the cuts the same as before but the difference isn't a deal breaker for me. The new cut didn't take long to get use to. I love using all of these brushes. I also think the handle design is way better and way cuter.
