Tarte Clay Stick Foundation

I've never found a foundation that I was extremely happy with. It's so hard to find the perfect foundation when you're covering such a finicky surface. We've got oils and flaky skin and pores. I think it's hard to be thrilled with a foundation unless you've got perfect skin. I certainly don't have the best face skin but I have found a foundation that REALLY satisfies me with it's performance. It's not something I normally look into as I have acne-prone skin and stick foundation is about the worst thing to put on your face. But I got my hands on one through the company and I am soooo impressed. I get compliments that my skin looks much better than normal by those that know my usual skin. And questions on if i'm wearing foundation.

Unlike most stick foundations, this is not dry or firm in the least. You will never need to use facial oils to loosen it up. It feels so emollient, it's like whipped butter. The stick instantly dissolves into an almost liquid texture.

The colour that I have is a total match-that's a first! There are few shades actually so this was a surprise. If you're an NC 15-20, you should be happy with the shade fair-light neutral. So happy with that, I really am.

The reason I really love this foundation is because it looks very skin like. Sometimes it's hard to see where my foundation ends and my bare skin begins. It's a medium coverage which is perfect for natural looking skin. The finish is natural-a little dewy but as a person who hates too dewy foundation, I go without setting this one! And it lasts a good amount of time! I get creasing most of the time but I haven't had any with this. How is that even possible?

I also amazingly don't get clogged pores anymore than I usually do. Sometimes when I put a foundation on, at the end of the day I will actually have surface pimples (with a white head). That has never happened to me with this foundation.

Every foundation has a downside. For me, the only things negative I could point out are sometimes it clings to patches but it's really not that bad looking. I had one day where on just one side of my face where pores are on my cheek by my nose, it looked a little textured and broken up but the other side looked amazing. Most of the time it looks great.

Lastly, the packaging. HI! It's kind of 1972. Love it.

This is a foundation that is not very popular. It's easily looked over. And that makes me sad. I feel like it deserves more exposure at least. If you've got very oily skin, you may want to avoid. But if you've got pretty normal skin and love the glossier look, I would definitely recommending looking into it. 💧🙆👍

This foundation is $39 USD and $50 CAD at Sephora.
