Vapour Organic Beauty Review

Vapour is a cruelty free and organic company that originated from USA. They sell makeup and skincare in exclusively cream or liquid form. They're like the 'creme de la creme' of ethical, environmentally friendly cosmetic companies. Every product is made in the USA with wind and or solar power. Everything is made with recyclable material or is recyclable. They don't even use water in their products. There's so many little things like this that make me really impressed with this company. I've discovered some amazing products. I think their lip products and cream-face products are great. Their highlighters look great. There were a few 'misses' that I tried. I think it's harder for a company like Vapour to get 'perfect' cosmetic products everytime when they're following all these 'guidelines'. It must be organic, a cream product. There are a lot of people out there though, that aren't as hard on cosmetics as I am and prefer to feel good what they buy and put on their skin over amazing performance. Some people are exclusively into green beauty. I want perfect performance and all that good stuff. Anyways, prepare yourself for this huge review!

LIPS

If there's something Vapour Organic Beauty should be praised for, it's their lip products. They're awesome. I'm a big advocate of wearing natural or organic lip products because we so often inadvertently eat it! Years ago, there use to be studies about the amount of lead women were putting into their bodies a year because of wearing lipstick. There was also some 'fact' that the average woman eats something like 7 pounds of lipstick a lifetime. I'm not sure how accurate that is but I never forget the main point of those studies and articles: conventional lipstick is unhealthy in any amount to be put into us. I never eat with lipstick on. I take it off before or if it's a matte liquid lipstick, I eat very carefully. Same goes for lipbalms. I know many people wouldn't be as careful as I am though. If so, you should go organic.

This smells faintly of apples and is if course very organic. I've since tried more hydrating lip balms though. It's on the thinner, waxy side. I have used the entire thing but I wouldn't buy as there's affordable natural lip balms out there that have the same level of hydration. This doesn't compare to bite beauty's formula.

SIREN LIPSTICK IN COURAGE 406

This is another favourite of mine. It's what I would call a really pigmented lip tint. It's really emollient and comfortable on the lips. There's not much of a fragrance added. If this shade was more in my comfort zone, i'd be wearing it everyday.

This is a really pretty cranberry shade with super fine micro shimmer. I have 3 other Vapour glosses swatched below. They all are thicker and slightly sticky feeling. They give a sheer wash of colour so are wearable. They all smell like candy apples or something. I really, really like the formula. Find a colour you like and it will last you a long time, product-wise.

FACE 

I wasn't a fan of this foundation or primer as they just didn't look right on my skin when applied as full coverage. I do however like their cheek products- blushes and highlighters.

This is a luminous primer. It gives a very slight opalescent glow. If you look very closely, you can barely make out the smallest micro shimmer. The glow it creates somehow peaks through my foundation a bit. This primer feels thicker and very velvety. It spread almost like Elmer's glue. Once you spread it evenly and given time to set, it feels very lightweight. There is also a tea tree oil type scent added. I like because it smells natural and invigorating. It could be irritating if used around the eyes.

I found this primer temperamental. I can make it work sometimes with some foundations and others times not. If I apply this on top of cream with my fingers, it'll pill badly. It doesn't work well with the Vapour Foundation because it clings or groups around peach fuzz very strangely. The first time I applied them together, I took it straight off. Other foundations, it works fine with, especially with a sponge. I like that it gives a smoother canvas for my foundation to blend on and gives a pretty glow. It's really nice on it own actually. But sometimes it just doesn't look well under certain foundations or application methods. It's best if you don't manipulate it too much after applying foundation. But I can't really recommend it.

VAPOUR STRATUS SOFT FOCUS FOUNDATION

I didn't have a good experience with this foundation. It just looks off no matter what I do. I apply it on top of Vapour's primer and it pills but even on its own it gathers on peach fuzz. I can't explain it. It's just thick looking. So no, I don't think you should spend $50 USD on this. Perhaps their stick foundation is better!

EYES

Mesmerize Eye Color in Firefly 607 & Ember 608

I was really excited about these cream eyeshadows. They swatched very well and are both a pretty colour. They both have micro glitter added so can be a pain to remove. On the eye they can pack a punch! I was so happy to find these didn't make my eyes burn or water at all but that happiness was cancelled out because these creased badly on my hooded eyes within minutes of applying.  I applied these to someone else and it creased badly on them too. I'm trying to find ways to get around this but can't. Sadly, i'd say pass on these.

MESMERIZE EYELINER IN INK 606



I think this is a good eyeliner for people that aren't into a super intense, precise liner look. It's also good for people with super sensitive eyes. I found this eyeliner didn't wore the best though. My first try, I loved it. It had a super pointed tip and I didn't need to apply a lot of pressure to get it to show up. But after a few uses I found it's good for the most basic application or adding darkness inbetween eyelashes. Don't try smudging it or you'll loose that super black intensity you might want. I think there are better black eyeliners out there. But I would recommend you try this one if you have really sensitive eyes.

MULTI-PURPOSE 

ARTIST PALETTE IN RENDEZ-VOUS 533

I found my first few swatches from this palette were non-existent. After some swirling I started to uncover some pigment. Everything from Vapour is subtle and for that no makeup look so keep that in mind. You won't get huge pigmentation with this. The pink shade is not very pigmented at all. The brown shade is basically a translucent gloss. It's pretty but i'd prefer more pigment. The first highlight shade is gorgeous. It's subtle shimmer highlight that I love!! Having used this palette, I would  skip it and get one of the Vapour highlighters. I have a lot of faith that those will be gorgeous.
