AG Hair Review ❤ Conditioning Products

To date, AG Hair is my favourite hair brand for moisturizing my dry and processed hair. I feel like the products were made for me and my hair specifically. The ingredients are just what my hair likes after being colored. The scents smell like delicious foods which i'm always into.

I don't expect anyone is looking to buy multiple moisturizing products so I will try my best to narrow down what product is best for your hair and taste. I find that the conditioner and detangler are both must-haves for me. The leave in conditioner and hair mask are nice extras. Overall, you can't go wrong with this brand.

Why I Chose These: I hand picked these for my hair based off of ingredients of a conditioner that I loved in the past. This conditioner was not cruelty free but professional quality so I went looking for a cruelty free dupe and AG Hair was fit what I was looking for. The main ingredient I was looking for was amodimethicone followed by cetearyl alcohol and something like behentrimonium chloride. Coconut oil was a plus as was keratin.

Amodithicone is my recently-discovered favourite hair ingredient. It's a chemically modified silicone that is designed to stick to your hair better but feel lightweight. It increases slip in grippy, processed hair. If you've coloured your hair, it should be great for smoothing your hair without leaving it feeling heavy.

20 Conditioning Products Available: If you hate silicones, AG hair has a huge selection to choose from. They have silicone and sulfate free haircare.

Fast Food Leave On Conditioner

This product is more about moisture and nourishment than it is about slip and detangling (though it provides some of that). It's similar to the conditioner but slightly little less slippy feeling. Unlike the conditioner, you leave this on your damp hair. This is what I use when i'm looking for definition of curls. I noticed one day I put a little too much of this one plus the detangler and it really weighed my hair down. So be sure not to add too much. A very small amount of this is needed which is good.

Ideal For: I think all hair types will love this but especially those with processed hair, course hair and curly hair. This could be too heavy for very fine hair but if you use a small amount on damp hair it should be fine.

Scent: Realistic raspberry-type scent. Sweet and slight metallic notes. Lovely!!

Price: $24 CAD on AG Hair | $24 US on Ulta

Purchase: I really really like this but i'm more likely to buy the Sleek Conditioner and use it as a leave-on conditioner.

Conditioning Mist Detangling Spray
This was my first time using a detangling spray so I have no past reference. At first I was like - do I need this? But when I began brushing my damp hair and the brush passed through with ease, I said yes I do! It's sprays out as if you're spraying scented water. The second ingredient is amodithicone which is what is providing that slip. Although it's not marketed as a heat-protectant, this is also how I use it. It contains a host of extracts as well as Panthenol, Silk Amino Acids, Hydrolyzed Keratin. There is NO DMDM Hydantoin (which releases formaldehyde when heated) which is a must for me.

Ideal For: Everyone will benefit from the slip. Girls with thinner hair would do well with this because of the super light texture. This won't weigh down any hair-type.

Scent: Homemade sugar-glazed fruit desert

Price: $26 CAD at Chatters/AG Hair | $26 US on Ulta

Purchase: Yes, I think i'll spend money on this once this runs out. But this will last me a long time.

Sleeek Conditioner
If I were to review this product in one sentence, this is how I would describe it: ''It smells like a caramel desert and provides amazing slip.'' When I first started using this I got so excited as the scent is my favourite and a rare find in haircare. That aside, slip is what i'm looking for in a conditioner. The trick with this product is to not completely rinse it out. The effect will be more slippery hair that also smells delicious. This is expensive so next time I buy it, I will mostly use it as a diluted leave-in conditioner.

Ideal For: People who are looking to smooth out their hair in a lightweight way. Great for light to normal hair. Will give you some slip.

Scent: Butterbeer? Butterscotch? Basically you want to eat it.

Price: $24 CAD on AG Hair | $24 US on Ulta.com

Purchase: I must use this again! I actually cut 6 inches of my hair off partly so I wouldn't run through this so fast because it's not a huge size. I love it that much.

Moisture Mask Infusion Treatment
For this price, I expected some exceptional performance. Given that the performance of the other products are so great, I was skeptical that this could top it. This was the last product I tried. When I tested it I compared it to the Sleeek Conditioner. I applied the Sleeek Conditioner on one side of my hair and the mask on the other. The directions for the mask said to let it sit for 5 to 30 minutes. I didn't want to waste any product by not letting it sit long enough so I did the max time recommended - 30 minutes. I found that the effect was so similar to the conditioner. This is the same size as the conditioner so i'm thinking maybe their keratin mask in the jar would be better as it's a little cheaper.

This seems more like a gift product. It's boujee in so many ways. I forgot to mention, this is thick like a face cream in a jar. It's a nice touch!

Scent: Floral. Roses.

Price: $40 CAD on AG Hair or Amazon.ca

Purchase: If you're not on a budget, you won't be disappointed in this. But keep in mind their cheaper products are just as good. I would not buy for that reason. This packaging though. I love it 😍
