NYX Ultimate Edit Petite Palettes (video)

The Ultimate Edit Petite Palettes are a smaller version of the 16-pan Ultimate Shadow Palettes. The new petite version offers 4 palette with 6 pans that are larger than the original palettes. They are selected shades from the original palette. If you love the fomula of the original palettes, you'll like these as they appear to be the same. These retail for $12 CAD or $7 USD which is awesome.

I found the mattes in both palettes had good pigmentation and were enjoyable to use. They are a little drier, less soft and less pigmented than a MUG or Colourpop shadow but still good. The shimmers were either decent or not the best except the one bronze one which was nice. After buying the foiled shadows from Makeup Geek and Colorpop, my expectations are high haha. The Warm Neutrals palette overall is nice to use. The Phoenix palette is on the inconsistent side. Some shades were firm, one got hard pan after one finger swatch but there were also some really nice ones. The red strangely looks warm leaning but is cool leaning when applied. I loveeee the olive in that palette but would rather pick that shade up in their individual line than get that palette.

Pheonix Palette

Gold- Is average. Takes some building. Pan is in between hard and soft. Not very metallic

Sorbet Peach - This colour is gorgeous but is a big w.t.h. Looks like an pigmented orange in pan but is very sheer and more of a sorbet orange. Very firm feeling and got hard-pan right after finger swatch. I love the shade so much but there's no pigment now

Muted Maroon - Gorgeous shade. Slightly softer but no fallout. Pigmented

Red - Looks like a hot tamale red in pan but is cherry red in swatch. Firm pan feels gritty but is nicely pigmented. It takes building just like my matte red from my viseart editorial brights palette.

Dark Plum - I love this purple shade for it's performance. Nicely pigmented

Dirty Khaki - I adore this shade. Builds up nicely. Is a matte-satin so there is a sheen.

Warm Neutrals

Warm Sand - Basic transition. Not a ton of kickup but some. Softest feeling out of every shade in this palette and other one. Looks darker in swatch than pan. Great performance.

Bronze - Gorgeous satin-metallic. Pigmented and the pan is softer than most metallic/shimmers i've swatched from brand. Crumbly and dry at the same time, does best with base to adhere to or applied wet.

Reddish Copper - Sheer, takes some building with finger but it's worth it. Stunning shade that reminds me of a MAC eyeshadow

Orangey-Brown - Nice transition, nice pigmentation

Red-Brown - Nice transition, nice pigmentation

Neutral Dark Brown - Nice pigmentation
