I tried the Nume Classic Curling Iron

I have a 1 inch curling iron from ion that I love(d) but Nume sent one of their 1 inch curling irons and it's now my daily choice. This curling iron is the most affordable and popular from the company.


It has a 1 inch barrel which is the standard size. The entire device is very lightweight which I enjoy as my original one is a lot heavier to hold. It's also much easier to use than my current curler as the barrel is about 2 inches longer and doesn't have an annoying clasp. The base design looks a little cheap for the price though. The 'pretty side' has two holes for screws. The other side has... very visible manufacturing writing and warning symbols. I don't need everything to be gorgeous but for the additional cost, I would like the presentation to be nicer. Not only that but after 1 use the soft coating on the handle of the black version is totally scratched and scuffed with white little marks. There's an on and off switch that's very unlikely to be accidentally turned on as it needs some force to switch on. There is not auto-shut off after an hour of staying on but the indicator light is meant to help you know if it's on or not but it's really not that apparent unless you look at it. I would like auto-shut off as i'm a forgetful girl sometimes. The barrel does not touch the surface it sits on. The default temperature it is set to reach 410 degrees in seconds but it takes 2 minutes to reach the highest heat imo. The heat level is just right for my frizzy, thicker hair. I actually don't mind the lack of temperature control at all.

The curls/beachy waves it creates are gorgeous. I love the ceramic barrel. It's so long which is nice because I have long hair. Hair easily glides off of it. I really like using the device, in fact I opt for it over my old one now as the design is way lower maintenance. I just feel the price should be lower as it's missing some of the features I mentioned above and the handle material on the black version is not very resistant to anything touching it as it shows scuffs. If you need to curl your long hair fast, this is ideal.
