Dear Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream - Redness Reduction

This cream really impresses me. It's meant to be more of a skin soother/redness reducer rather than a moisturizer. It's recommended to apply this just to red areas of your face but i've been applying it all over generously.

Thoughts
After using this cream for about a week, my really face does seem to be less red. If i'm not totally full of it, what ingredients could be responsible for this effect?? My best guess is the Guaiazulene and Centella Asiatica Extract. I really don't know much about them but here's what i've learnt from research.

Guaiazulene is responsible for the blue colour of the cream. This cream contains 0.03% concentrate of guaiazulene. The blue ingredient is said to help to fight inflammation and redness on the most sensitive of skin. It's mainly sourced from the chamomile plant. Below is some more information from this article.

Centella Asiatica Extract (cica) is an ingredient that is very popular in Korean skincare and for good reason. It's a perennial herb that grows primarily in Asia. According to beautypedia, studies have shown that this ingredient is shown to be a good hydrating ingredient to soothe upset or compromised skin as will as help mitigate some of the visible effects of sun damage and revitalize skin's protective barrier. Basically if you've got red and irritated skin, this is a good ingredient to use!

Texture
This is a medium-weight cream that dries down to a very tacky feeling similar to how Elmer's glue feels when it starts to dry on your hand. I like this texture. Although this is meant to be more of a treatment, I feel this is hydrating enough to be a stand-alone face cream.
