Verb is a well reviewed, reasonably priced hair care brand sold in Sephora and on their own website. They are American and CRUELTY FREE! Yay! Take a look at how gorgeous the packaging is for their Ghost line.
The above transformation was achieved by the Curl Cream, the first product I tried from the brand. I applied a generous amount on my damp hair. I never blow dry my hair because it makes my waves incredibly frizzy separated. I decided to scrunch my hair and blow dry it as I recently saw in a curly hair routine. WOW. My curls and waves were brought back to life! They were totally held together. My hair didn't look greasy or heavy. I could feel the 'binding ingredients' in my hair but it didn't bother me. It's harder to brush out hair with this is but it's not too crunchy. My hair did fall out by the next day, but that's okay. I think if my hair didn't become much more straight from bleaching it, the curls would have stayed better. The next day, I applied more to dry hair with some hair oil. I scrunched them through my hair and got some nice beachy waves for the day. I love this product!
The Curl Cream retails for $16 USD or $18 CAD on the Sephora website.
DRY SHAMPOO
I've always hated aerosol dry shampoo. It's just gross to me. Most of them smell horrible and I feel like I breath a lot of it in. I love the simple packaging of this dry shampoo. The powder is so fine that it easily comes out of a super tiny opening. It's really easy to use. The powder has a very pleasant fruity smell. This dry shampoo does an awesome job at absorbing oil but it leaves a white cast on dark hair that is hard to diffuse. It's not horrible but it's noticeable to my eye that my hair looks more chalky and dull where I applied in near my hair part. A quick fix for might be to dampen wherever the chalky areas are with something wet - styling gel, water, setting spray. If the company can add some dye or something for us dark haired people, I think it would be even more of a hit. If you've got light hair, definitely pick it up if you're looking for a super oil absorbing dry shampoo.
The Dry Shampoo in this size retails for $16 USD or $18 CAD on the Sephora website. There is also a 15 mL size available for $8 USD.
GHOST PREP
This is a prep step for people with fine hair. I don't have fine hair but that doesn't mean this product won't be of use to me! The Ghost Prep provides hair with heat protection when styling as well as frizz control and weightless moisture. It does all of that. It's lightweight and does a nice job at smoothing out frizzies. It reminds me of their Curl Cream but way more lightweight and with way less hold. I mostly use this on my damp hair, but also on my dry hair when I something lightweight to smooth out my frizz. I'm into it.
The Ghost Prep retails for $16 USD or $18 CAD on the Sephora website.
HYDRATING SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER
I went back and forth on whether I would prefer the Hydrating OR Ghost Shampoo & Conditioner as a duo. I have super dry ends but my roots are normal. I opted for the Hydrating line which was the more popular line on Sephora.
I LOVE these two products!!! The shampoo creates a nice dense foam that cleans hair very well yet provides some moisture. My hair doesn't feel stripped after using it. The conditioner is amazing too. It leaves my hair so slippery in the shower which I love. Both products are not overly moisturizing that they weigh hair my down or cause my hair to become greasy faster which was a big concern of mine. They make a great team. These two products are absolutely worth buying for me!!
The Hydrating Shampoo and Hydrating Conditioner in this size retails for $16 USD and $18 CAD. Sephora is having an online exclusive where you can get both products plus a wide tooth comb for $28 USD.
HYDRATING MASK
I love hydrating masks in general because my hair usually feels benefits much longer than when using a conditioner. The hydration should be deeper, right?
My previous masks, the L'oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil Hair Mask and One 'n Only Argan Oil Restorative Mask (not cruelty free) seemed to give my hair more hydration but also a heavier residue. The Verb Hydrating Mask leaves my hair feeling moisturized but more lightweight. I give it props for not weighing down hair.
How does this stack up to the Hydrating Conditioner? I compared these by applying each to one side of my hair in the shower The first time I compared the two, I felt like the Hydrating Conditioner did more for my hair than the Hydrating Mask because it provided more of a hydrating, slippery feeling to my hair. The second time I compared the two in the shower, I felt they provided the same amount of hydration and slip (weird, I know...). Once my hair was dry, both sides felt the exact same. I like this mask but I want it to give way more hydration than the Hydrating Conditioner. It gets great reviews and a lot of people love it for being hydrating yet lightweight but the Hydrating Mask is sooo good on it's own that I don't think it's completely necessary to have both. I would rather invest in the Hydrating Conditioner which is the same price but gives you more product :)
The Hydrating Mask retails for $16 USD and $18 CAD on Sephora.
