Korres Primer Review {Pomegranate Mattifying Primer} & {Wild Rose Smoothie Brightening Priming Moisturizer}

This feels like a lightweight moisturizer. It minimizing dry patches on myself, making foundation look slightly smoother on the skin. It can't be described as heavy or emollient. I love that it doesn't alter foundation. It works just like my usual Murad Hydro-Dynamic Moisture does under makeup. One day I tested it so that one side of my face had no primer and the other had this primer. I don't find this does anything substantial for prolonging wear on my skin, but I really like how it preps skin and appreciate that it contains ingredients to treat my skin issues like skin discoloration. I do have problems with it though. The 5th ingredient is alcohol, which i'm always told is sensitizing (aka bad) for skin. The scent is faintly of alcohol (and fragrance)... Other than that, I love it and still use it, but i'm not sure if alcohol is really an issue. UPDATE: After a few more months of using, I found I don't like using this. The smell gets to me and I feel like i'm smearing bad ingredients on my face.

POMEGRANTE MATTIFYING PRIMER -$43 CAD/$33 USD

I have dry skin but do have an oily t-zone. I applied this on top of the oil that had showed up on my bare skin through the day and it looks like it reduced it a bit. It prolonged my makeup wear a little. Only downside -which doesn't stop me from using it- it smells faintly of alcohol, mold and chlorine. I don't really notice it unless I use a lot of product.

COMPARED TO EACH OTHER
Both set down fast to dry yet slightly moisturized feeling. There is no pilling with either. The Pomegranate Mattifying Primer feels a little more on the drier side. I think oily skinned people would like it.

I wore each of these on one side of my face underneath the Too Faced Peach Perfect foundation. The foundation looked the same on each side, but the Wild Rose Smoothie Brightening Priming Moisturiser made the foundation look the slightest bit less cakey and clingy to dry patches. I do have dry skin, so keep that in mind.

Which one prolonged my foundation longer? I made sure not to touch my face for 5 hours before checking. I found that both sides looked the exact same. Maybe because the foundation I now wear is 24 hour-wear one.

FINAL THOUGHTS
These products will work a little different for everyone. I recommend getting a sample.

I really like these as a foundation-skin barrier because they don't alter foundation finish, cause more rapid breakdown or break me out.

I like the Wild Rose Smoothie Brightening Priming Moisturiser to moisturize the dry areas of my face. I like the Pomegranate Mattifying Primer for keeping oil at bay in my t zone-where I get oily and foundation tends to dissolve because of that oil. If you have super oily skin, the mattifying primer might be your friend.
